I get it is for grouping schools in the same geographic region, but having 1 sectional in 5a with 5 teams and the rest with 4 and having 6 sectionals with 8 and 2 with 7 in 4a stupid

Most of teams usually have conference members in their sectionals. And if not, that's where the extra games come in.

And while playing football in high school, which do you think mattered to us more, being the lake 10 blue division champs or being sectional champs?

When growing up in Griffith in the 80s, highland was always our biggest rival. By the time I got to high school it became hobart. But I always loved beating highland.
Also nice to see postage win for the first time in nearly 2 years. Not a lot of talk here in town for the last few years

The 2 Hammond schools are probably too big as a 5a enrollment (probably make more sense in the northwest crossroads conference). Maybe East Chicago Central replaces South Central.

Since 1934, Griffith and Lowell have played each other either in the regular season or playoffs. They are not on each other's schedule and are in different classes. The rivalry hasn't been close for a while, but still a little sad.
