What I’ve heard is that Valpo and Chatard are off the schedule and FW Bishop Luers on in Week 2 and still working on Week 7 matchup. I would be very surprised if it was Cathedral although trying to find a week 7 opponent limits your choices due to most team in middle of conference play.

When Hanover Central was added to NCC it screwed up the scheduling with some teams getting mid conference byes. NCC needs to add one more team to conference.

It will be Illiana Christian. It’s already been announced they are joining the conference next year but no football program yet. It is believed that they will start football program very soon.

Word on the street is they already have their football coach in place. Let's just say they didn't have to look very far.

Would have liked to see them pick up Illinois big school like a Mount Carmel or pick up one of the Indy Big Boys to better prepare them

Mt. Carmel would be a good matchup.

For sure would have liked to see them play a team that's been more on the winning side of things, traditionally. However, can't ignore the improvement Pike has seen over the 3 years of coach Mike Brevard's tenure (1-9 non-competitive, 3-8 non-competitive, 5-5 but competitive). It's not a "sexy" matchup for CP but it will only help them. Pike beats CP's last two week 2 opponents by a touchdown or two each. If they went over the border, they should probably try out a little warm up before jumping in the deep end with Mount Carmel. Lol
