Apparently these gentlemen have forgotten the offensive genius of Tony Klimczak. He brought modern day offense to the region, coaches saw him have multiple 3k passing years at 2A Wheeler and took the hint.
THIS.
He did it at wheeler that really plays no one. He wouldn’t be able to do that in duneland and to this point in my opinion hasn’t. Portage improved but to me they just don’t have the talent to replicate it. I’d love to be wrong. Plus I don’t see Tony staying. He is a intern coach rumors where he was leaving (heard from
Another former portage coach) to take the OC job at Merrillville. But portage begged him to stay because turnover was already looking crazy at portage. I think he is one and done
If you understood football half as well as you think you do, you'd understand it wasn't who it was against. It was what we did. We would scrimmage big schools all summer long, including your beloved Merrillville, and do the same thing we did to River Forest and Whiting. And then all of a sudden, lo and behold, almost every school in the region is running the Wheeler offense. Crazy how that works.

Summer scrimmages against Merrillville

Stop with this stuff. Let's see this offense in the duneland this year and we will see.

Relax, we know you didn't play. But the thing is, YOU HAVE SEEN IT. Ask coaches (if you even have the ability to) who brought the spread offense to NWI.

 Didn't play. Stop with this nonsense. You know nothing about me.

Coach K did a great job at Wheeler and there is no doubt he helped spread an offense around the area. But lets not act like he is Bill Walsh or something.

The spread has been around a lot longer than klimczack

its hilarious how you spell his name differently every time you type it. "Klimczak" for future reference. And as a scheme? Obviously. But in the region? Absolutely not. You saw the typical wing and pro offenses. Then around 2005-2006, Wheeler starts putting up 50 points a half and the whole landscape changed.

Stop. Guys like Sherwood Haydock were running spread concepts in the 1980s and 90s in the region. Things cycle in and out. When Coach K started putting up huge numbers there may have not been many others doing it, but that does not mean he brought the idea to the region.

Coach K definitely isn’t what brought it to region. Also I’ll be the one to say it. You need a QB who can throw lol 😂 Kodys passes were not great. And just because he had a few yards doesn’t make him a QB. He might be 6th best in DAC

Let’s figure out what’s fact and what’s fiction, since the lines are often times blurred in Cody’s posts.

Coach Klimczak and his family have earned their respect. Lots of great coaches in the family. None of which have ever been interns. Coach Klimczak is currently the interim head coach at portage a job he held before the OC job at merrillville opened up.

I’m sure you’re alter egos CrownPoint2024 or Trojanman7 will come to defend you, but we all know those are you typing under another username.

Portage may not have the Jimmies and Joes, but TK has the X's and O's. Well, the O's anyway.
