Chesterton has done nothing so far to show they are tier 2.

Agree on Chesterton. Why I think it’s clear is because it really doesn’t matter who finishes 3-8. Merrillville and CP are in class far above the other schools. The rest are unimpressive. If forced to tier,

Tier 1: The elite - Merrillville and CP
Tier 2: The average - Valpo, LC, MC, and Chesterton
Tier 3: The bad - Portage and LaPorte

Huge gap between 1 and 2. Not as huge of a gap between 2 and 3.

No doubt it does not matter who finishes in those spots, but I think it will shake itself out in the next couple weeks.

I think Valpo is better than they have shown so far.

I think Valpo and MC has the ability to separate themselves into tier 2, but only time will tell.

Agree on your assessment of Valpo and MC especially Valpo. Coach Marshall is outstanding and I trust him to have his team improve. MC might have the talent on paper but I have not been impressed with them yet.

Also, my entry of Chesterton in Tier 2 was a generous one. Defense solid offense bad.

What’s everyone’s take on the CP offense? I don’t think it’s good. But others say it’s great and others say it sucks

It’s all based on the power running game, play action and passing to TE’s. When you have a big offensive line and limitations at the skill positions, this is what you run. I don’t think labeling it good or bad is the correct way to describe them. It’s very effective for what they have in terms of talent. It’s a great offense if Merrillville defense can’t stop them because they will wear you down, chew clock and limit Merrillville offensive possessions.

The combination of Crown Point's lines and Merrillville's skill talent = Brownsburg. It would be awesome to see if Buzea could get some Pirate talent in the portal.

Tier 1

Merrillville
Cp

Tier 2

Valpo
Chesterton

Tier 3
City
Lake central

Tier 4
Portage
Laporte

😂

Not necessarily in that order per tier
I think the only tier that is set in stone is the top

After that we are going to get an unpredictable year of DAC play. Just wait a couple weeks and I think all tiers will be dissolved and the only thing that might stick is Portage in the basement merely due to circumstances surrounding the program this year.

LC is closer to the bottom than I think people realize right now.

Not gonna say it’s similar but we faced Loyola which used there TEs a lot. Play action. Not so much because our LBs wre coming a lot. But who knows
