I don't think they fell off, LC beat the teams that they should beat on their schedule, and will likely go 0-7 after a 3-0 start. I'd say 3-7 or 4-6 is a step in the right direction, but far from the type of football that should be played at the largest school in the conference. The future is bright, with many of the key contributors being underclassmen. In 2 years time I don't think it would be out of line to say this is a 7 win team.

This is the right answer. LC was just better than the first three teams they played, and won all three as they should have. They are not better when compared to CP and the rest of the teams they'll play this season, and will likely lose out. CP is not 35 points better than CP, but on Friday night after the fumble on LC's first offensive play leading to an easy TD, that was worst case scenario for a team who cannot fall behind early given their lack of offensive firepower. It felt like basically game over from there, with a blip in optimism from LC's side once they scored their first and only touchdown, which quickly faded right before half. This is a 3 yards and a cloud of dust type of offense, and if the run gets stuffed there's not a whole lot else that can pose a threat. Easy to say on a message board, but WR #1 needs more targets... perhaps all targets though the air, or even jet sweeps... somethin, but more touches overall since he has some solid talent. LC's only realistic chance of another win is this week at LaPorte, and 4-6 is a solid first season for Coach Good that exceeds realistic expectations. Realistically, they will lose by at least 20 to City and Chesterton, and by 30+ to Merrillville and Valpo. That all being said, the culture around the program seems to be changing, which is the most important part in year 1.
