Definitely the game to see this week in the Region, any thoughts?

Merrilville by 21

I have seen a fair amount of both but more more Merrillville. From what I have seen I think Valpo is going to struggle defending Merrillville. I do think the Viking offense scores some points, but not enough to keep up. I think the Pirates win a high scoring game, something like 45-31.

I would have to agree that Merrillville passing game will be a problem, especially after seeing our DBs at times in the Crown Point game. Merrillville presents a big problem because you cannot just load the box and plan to stop Tank or play a defense that leaves 5 in the box as they will mix in 11 and 21 personnel sets and pound you power and iso.

Our game plan has to be to try to run the ball to grind down the tempo of the game. If this becomes a shootout than I think we will be in trouble.

But then again, I was at the Merrillville - Crown Point game.

The Ville by 24, I don't believe the Vikings will stop the receiver corps of the Pirates.

Dominant performance by merrillville

Merrillville was impressive. I expected them to be able to score, but I came away impressive with their defense. Let's see if they can keep the momentum rolling and get past semi state. As for Valpo, I still think a deep playoff run is possible, like to see them regroup and make a run.
