DAC/NCC PREDICTIONS

Post by Regionnut2 »

What order do you have these shaking out?

I have:

DAC: Merrillville, Valpo, Chesterton, Crown Point, Portage, and LaPorte/LC either way
NCC: Hobart, Andrean, Highland, KV, Lowell, Munster

Thoughts?

DAC: Valpo, Merrillville, Crown Point,Portage, Chesterton, MC, LaPorte, Lake Central (Merrillville was a play away from the crown, cannot wait for their rematch with Valpo)

NCC: Hobart,Andrean,Lowell,Highland,KV, Munster (Andrean@ Hobart game will be a good one, especially if both teams are healthy, last year Andrean did not have Flesher but if both teams are healthy this will be an absolute war)

Valpo landing Maximus Grimes all but guarantees a DAC crown and a shot at the state title. Cathedral likely lurking in the south.

Merrillville's going to be loaded too, and Valpo has to go to Merrillville this year. The Pirates let Valpo off the mat last year, blowing a 28-10 fourth-quarter lead and still nearly hitting a deep TD pass late to win it (called back by penalty). So don't ship Valpo the DAC crown just yet--but another deep run in 5A looks like an excellent bet.

The Pirates have not beat the Vikings in five seasons, Coach Wells' last year at the helm. Merrillville has questions to answer at QB, losing Rodriguez and Whitehead. Who takes the reins? Valpo just reloaded, getting a two-year starter who led the most prolific offense in the state last season. Nod to the guys in green.

Past performance is not indicative of future performance. Just because Merrillville hasn't beaten Valpo in five years doesn't mean they won't. All streaks are made to be broken.

Valpo may very well beat Merrillville, but it's not a slam dunk.

How the turntables... Bucs have to be heavy favorites. Weapons everywhere on both sides of the ball.
