Is O’Connell the former coach of river forest? Just curious why you would have him as the top choice? I don’t know much about him.

He was very well received at RF. Did a great job of laying a foundation that is continued to be built upon. He has Head coaching experience and has a lot of experience in the DAC. I would say they could definitely do a lot worse than him.

Freak says it best.... O'Connell is top shelf. Would be a good selection for Coach. OC at the Ville during some of their more successful campaigns. Made great strides at River.

strides at River, 2018 beat Roosevelt in Regular season by 10 and then lost by 12 to them in sectionals.
2019 and 2020 was a 3A school. Tallied one total 3A win and 1 4A win (beat a winless EC team when they only played half a season)

How much do the assistants do at CP. Wells is a legit DC. Tom Ciscero is a legit OL coach. Buzz runs the show. How many others are just hanging on to their coattails.

When I coached with Buzz at Portage in 06-07, I can tell you as an assistant, I did a TON and learned A LOT about all that goes into coaching. He prepares his assistants to become head coaches should they choose to be. In my experience, he gives you as much as you are willing to take on. You better be ready to work, but man did we have a blast. I can say the same for my time coaching with Chip at CP.

There was a buy in with Joe with a new culture that had not existed prior at River. He was responsible for the total renovation of the weight room and approached the S&C program tailored to success. He did coach at MV and was a very innovative OC. I would like to see what some of the others say. While building a winning program is important, Football is about building men. His three seasons at RF for review...

List is crazy anyway.

O'conell isn't leaving CP.
Robinson and Kania wont get intrerviews.

Portage extended the application deadline. So there isnt any big names.

3 questions.

Do you give it in house to Klimczak?

Do you take a chance with French?

How Long does Hudak stay at Hammond?

who you taking from those 3

The smoothest hire would be Klimczak as far as already being in the building.
