How did HAMMOND CENTRAL lose to a 1A team? Were they that much better?

Pioneer has had a solid 1A program.....and Hammond Central had only played the teams ranked #193, 239, and 243 in Indiana and needed overtime to beat a team Hanover Central beat 60-13. 28-12 Pioneer over Hammond Central was what sagarin suggested it would be.
