Consider them, yes give them the position? They don't fit the profile.
I'm just curious...what's the "profile"?

They aren't "Hobart" guys? Pretty sure Schreiber went to Hammond High.
I think he graduated from Hobart. But started in Hammond

There is no mystery here. This has always been Hobart's plan. Osika was rumored to step down due to Administrative role in school a couple of years ago. Schreiber left Westside to become the HC when Osika resigned from coaching. In regards to posting the for the job, I would assume they have some bylaws that require them to post the role. It is Schreiber's job.

It seems to be a waste of people's time to post it on the IFCA website when protocol would only require doing so on School City of Hobart site. And if it were a union requirement, an internal posting could have sufficed. Regardless, good luck to Schreiber if he ends up getting it.

Hobart is not the only school that has a pick (selection) and jumps through the hoops internally and externally. It happens in the corporate world too.

100%. Then when you actually want an open process, some good candidates won't apply because past practice gives the impression it's all smoke and mirrors.

I know of a couple of quality candidates who aren't applying because they've been told it's a done deal.

They should listen to what they are being told. The last time a non-Son of Hobart was hired as coach was over 20 years ago. The die is cast they are going back that way for the first time since Wally Mac was hired.

I'd be shocked if it was not Eric Schreiber Jr.
