The new Hammond high

Post by oldunclemark »

I've heard a lot of folks are sad about the end of the tradition of Hammond high.
Help me out, here.

Hammond Central sits on the same site as the old Hammond high, give or take as few hundred feet.
The kids who now go to Hammond will also go to Hammond Central. All of them.

So why is the tradition lost?
Why was the name changed.? There are too many 'Centrals' as it is...
Why isnt the new Hammond high the old Hammond high?

That’s a good question, I have no idea. I may have missed it but have they named a head football coach?

OUM... welcome back.... I'm with you leave well enough alone. So are they sticking with purple and white or changing that up too ? I know the nickname is being changed to the Wolves ?

I thought they hired a new coach prior to the 2020 football season. I presume he will still lead the program, as the Morton football coach will continue to lead theirs w/ Hammond Clark and Gavit both shutting down their HS programs.

from what i've gathered all coaches in all sports need to re-apply.
There's nothing else going....so why not bring this back?

Thank you, Nut........so much has changed.
Like you, I also heard that the new Hammond teams will be the Wolves.
Just like Boone Grove. Just like Michigan City. I guess 'Region Rats' wouldnt get past the school board.

I really hope they stay with the purple color scheme. Tradition.
