Re: Summer Scrimmages
I have seen a few of Merrillville
And 1 of crown point.
1 for andrean
Merrillville: looks good on both sides of the ball. Offense line needs to gel a little better for me. But no complaints. They return the best RB tandem in the region with JQ and Cameron both who ran over 1000 yards last season. Still figuring out the QB situation after last years starter jordan sanders choose not to be on the team this year. The transfer QB from mt. Carmel looks like he is the better choice in my book but looks like last years backup in Bowles will be getting the start week 1. Not who is go with but that’s why Im not the coach.
Crown point: looks solid on both sides of the ball. Not as dominate on the line right now after graduating the last 2 senior groups. QB situation is still a dog fight. They at the moment don’t have a solid RB so IU commit TE Trevor Gibbs has been playing running back on and off through summer. Crown point lacks the skill positions as usual but buzea always finds a way to work around that. Crown point looks like they will take a step or two back early in season but should be solid by years end.
Andrean: all I can say is this is one of the most talented Andrean teams in the past 15 years. They definitely are my pick to win 2A and honestly if they had the depth of a 4/5A school o think they might be able to compete in those classes. Merrillville is definitely onupset watch week 1!!

Jordan Sanders made the decision not to play? Is that according to your inside sources? Or is that just what his dad is telling everyone to save face?DACfanatic wrote: ↑Mon Jul 21, 2025 10:45 pmI have seen a few of Merrillville

And at what point do people stop calling him a Mt. Carmel Transfer? The young man has always attended Merrillville Schools and participated in Merrillville athletics. He went to Mt. Carmel as a freshman, didn’t like the experience and chose to come back to his HOME school.
He is a home grown player. Also crazy your sources say DJ will be the starter week 1. I’ll let you in on some insight, my sources tell me the coach has them play paper rock scissors right before the session to see who gets 1st team reps for the day. I will let you confirm that with your deep inside sources though

Not to defend anyone, but from what I was informed the coaches kicked him out in the winter and haven’t allowed him back. He tried to transfer into bulldog country to play against them but choose to stay and quit football. But we also at crown point have heard that DJ is there starter especially from scrimmage film he has started each scrimmage so far.

I’m friends with the family. I don’t know anything about him trying to go to crown point. But I have heard from some he quit and decided not to come back. And I have heard from others he got kicked out. Really not my place to put that out there so I just say he decided not to play. I don’t need to know all the info on that. I just hope the kids goes to college and plays if he truly wants to.CPbulldogs2024 wrote: ↑Wed Jul 23, 2025 1:13 amCodyFactChecker wrote: ↑Tue Jul 22, 2025 4:55 pmJordan Sanders made the decision not to play? Can’t agree more. People give you a lot of shit but you actually care about the schools in the area and want to see them all succeed except when they play the piratesDACfanatic wrote: ↑Wed Jul 23, 2025 5:00 amI’m friends with the family. Jordan didn't try to go to crown point. he didn't get kicked out but he did leave. Basically he ran from the plantation.DACfanatic wrote: ↑Wed Jul 23, 2025 5:00 amI’m friends with the family. Re: Summer Scrimmages
From what I heard from his father. They left because Jordan was told he had to compete for starting job after leading team all of last year and he had no shot at winning it. Jordan didn’t show up to any volunteer workouts and also hurt himself in the spring. Merrillville is going with the transfer they got last season as he was supposed to be the QB last season but the ihsaa ruled him ineligible a week or so before season. He didn’t make his debut till toward end of season but by then it was to late for a team to make a full switch like that. As someone who has seen the young man at a few camps his mobility sets him far apart from the QBs of the past for Merrillville he will be tough to defend. His arm is above average also. If he can mature as the season goes on he might be the best QB I have seen Merrillville have. He is definitely a D1 prospect. The question is can he achieve the high levels set for him. There is a lot of media hype around him not just in NWI but I have seen a few camps put out pieces on him as the breakout candidate for the junior class in the entire state this year. He will stall fall to the dogs though! We look rough but we will get it right by week 3
