DAC Power ranking and predictions WEEK 4
WEEK 4 DAC POWER RANKINGS AND PREDICTIONS
Week 4 power rankings.
1. Crown point (3-0)
2. Merrillville (1-2)
3. Lake central (2-1)
4. Michigan city (2-1)
5. Chesterton (1-2)
6. Valpo (1-2)
7. Laporte (1-2)
8. Portage (0-3)
Week 4 predictions:
I’m (17-4) through 3 weeks.
Crown point @ lake central:
Crown point comes into this game off a 35-21 win over rival Merrillville. Crown point was able to control the line of scrimmage with there power run game anchored with Trevor Gibbs. It’s a simple but effective offense. Lake central comes in off a 26-0 win over portage. Lake central needs to clean up some penalties and some small things otherwise they are better than the previous few seasons. Well as we can all see the gap between crown point and the rest has shrunk some but they still own this conference for now. Crown point should be able to roll the rest of year with ease.
Crown point wins 42-14
Portage @ Merrillville:
Both of these teams enter off at least 2 game losing streaks. Portage taking the loss to lake central and Merrillville taking the loss to crown point. Portage has looked absolutely horrendous this season they need to figures out something fast or they might just lose every game this season. Merrillville on the other hand don’t let it fool you this is still the 2nd best team in the DAC by a large margin. Merrillville needs to clean up the offensive line, if they do that this is a legit state title contender. Otherwise another semistate loss is in the future. Merrillville takes care of this game by half.
Merrillville 49-7
Laporte @ Chesterton:
Laporte enters this matchup off a loss to rival Valpo by a score of 26-0. Laporte needs to find someway to compete in duneland in football this program has talent in it that never transitions on the field. What ever it is figure it out! Chesterton on the other hand lost to rival Michigan city by a score of 30-13. The score was 7-7 at the half. But some costly turnovers in the 3rd qtr allowed city to separate themselves. Chesterton has got to find something outside of just running the ball or they are looking at another sectional exit. I believe Chesterton has the better team in the matchup but that’s not saying much.
Chesterton wins 28-14
Game of week:
Michigan city @ valpo:
City enters this game off a win over Chesterton 30-13. The defense has been very opportunistic. The offense still needs some work because right now it seems that they only have a run game working for them as there QB is extremely inconsistent and inaccurate. But in all fairness when he is on the wolves have weapons at WR. Valpo on the other hand dominated the Laporte slicers. This team is growing as the year goes on after losing to Penn and brother rice (IL). Valpo need to be able to run and control the clock and get some stops on defense. I’m not sure they are improved enough for this game at this time. Valpo is continuing to grow. But I think the regular season matchup is gonna go in the favor of the wolves.
City 28-21

MC and Valpo is by far the game of the week. I am going to give Valpo the edge because of coaching.

City finishes 3rd in the conference. Valpo and Chesterton are fighting for 4th. Laporte and LC fighting for 6th. Portage will finish last(no surprise there)

I’m struggling with the Laporte/portage game. Already thinking about that. Have a feeling it’s portage only shot.paintballer wrote: ↑Mon Sep 08, 2025 3:30 pmCity finishes 3rd in the conference. I'm telling you this one won't be like previous years. Marshall is a great coach but they graduated a lot from a team last year that wasn't a top tier Valpo squad.BallinFreak wrote: ↑Mon Sep 08, 2025 2:57 pmMC and Valpo is by far the game of the week. Valpo will beat Portage, LC, and Laporte. Their prove it game is Chesterton.

The real question what is he not doing.
He switches by scenario.
He has lined up at
Offense: WR, TE, Hback, RB, FB, wildcat QB
Defense: MLB, OLB,

In terms of motivation I think Laporte will be playing for a lot more that week than Portage will be.DACfanatic wrote: ↑Mon Sep 08, 2025 5:38 pmI’m struggling with the Laporte/portage game. I don’t disagree but can Laporte actually matchup with a duneland school?paintballer wrote: ↑Mon Sep 08, 2025 7:08 pmIn terms of motivation I think Laporte will be playing for a lot more that week than Portage will be.DACfanatic wrote: ↑Mon Sep 08, 2025 5:38 pmI’m struggling with the Laporte/portage game.
