I've been crediting Lake Station all season, glad to see they're winning games this year that they haven't in the past. They are going to have a winning regular season for the first time in over 25 years. But this poll must be a joke. Lake Station is 50th out of 63 Class 2A teams in the Sagarin ratings.

Re: Region 1 Top 25
Being involved with the IFCA for may years at the Region level officer and 14 straight years of board meetings at state level, with great confidence, I believe a voter on the ratings board did not double check their list and one would assume LAPEL was the meant choice vs LAKE STATION, common mistake over the years.
I have yet to see Lake Station, however, HC of West Central is pal of mine, he sent me a message leading up to their game saying he thought Lake Station was running our offense and how he explained it to me didn't make sense, so he sent me come clips from his phone, has some simularities, but what stuck was it seemed they had some decent speed to shoot the ball to their athletes and try to out run them to the edge, again, just from 3 clips I saw but that could be a handful for teams it seems.
Who knows the Ping Pong Balls may drop and Bombers make 2 trips to Ridge Rd area in one year, like old 90s Northwest Hoosier Conference days that I played in !!!
Still have not seen your Bearcats, but this I do know, Big fan of Coach Testa from his days of playing slow pitch softball and our long football chats over the years on the diamonds and mutual pals.!!! Good dude and definetly knows ball. So not surprised in the least bit to see Bearcats where they are.

DAC bias is showingJimbo23 wrote: ↑Thu Oct 09, 2025 12:52 pmThe Rensselaer Bombers +7.5 (according to Sagarin) on a neutral field vs Lake Central?! I like those odds for the boys down there in Jasper County! LolCoach Nowlin 2.0 wrote: ↑Wed Oct 08, 2025 6:49 pmLofty, not sure how'd we match up with our 30 guys vs Lake Central and Valpo. haha. GIve it the ole Bomber Try though......
Valpo... As we said before, this poll is rewarding teams who win (even though I couldn't resist this week and moved Valpo up despite the loss).![]()
Although, I don't know if I HATE the Bombers +18.5 on a neutral field vs the Vikings THIS YEAR; I will say I like you guys +7.5 vs LC way more. Lol

Re: Region 1 Top 25
Highland getting shellacked by Munster hurt the Warriors as much as them losing to Wheeler did. Lol like the college football poll as teams on your schedule get worse throughout the year. Valpo played better than expected against Merrillville so I couldn't ignore that Valpo beats Lake Station and Calumet by 40+ each, even this year, anymore. Sorry old friend...paintballer wrote: ↑Thu Oct 09, 2025 1:57 pmbut you moved Calumet down with a loss to wheeler. smh.
