If you look at IHSAA you will see it goes to the team with most away games during year. If both are tied than bottom bracket hosts.

Given the New information....

Hobart and Lowell have played the same amount of Away games. Lowell will be on the road for round 2 regardless with new rule. Hobart will be at Home vs West Side or at KV. If Hobart is at KV and Lowell is at EC/ Highland then Hobart will host. If Hobart is at Home vs West Side and Lowell is at EC/ Highland then Lowell will host.

IT SAYS NEW FOR 2025 sectional championship games will be held by team with MOST AWAY GAMES! so yes it does have to do with the games in the season lol im starting to think people in this page can’t read. Everything I posted came word for word from the IHSAA website. I added in (regular and postseason) because per multiple ADs that’s what most away games means. So yes the regular season does have to do with the sectional championship games.

They also changed rules for regionals and semistate for 2025 if you would like to look for yourself.
