Think there’s a case for Andrean at #3 too. The last however many coaches have all gone to state. In terms of trying to win the big one, that’s gotta be the job, right?
Simply demonstrates the private school advantage Andrean enjoys.
That’s why Noll has been the same way right?
Oh, the old Noll argument. Yes, there are private schools that do not have very competitive football programs. That not every private school has capitalized on the advantage doesn't mean that the advantage does not exist.

I know you're addressing DaCoach, but I'm curious, what's the beef then?
My beef really isn't with the schools themselves, it's with the IHSAA regarding private schools. Try this link: viewtopic.php?f=4&t=167
I chimed in on this thread lol but thanks for the link. It helps me see your side of things on this topic. Most of your points, I am on board with as far as "advantages" are concerned yet not addressed. Particularly loved the "multiplier" point especially considering that would bump Andrean ALL THE WAY UP  to 3A (where they CERTAINLY can compete).

Please my Bearcat Pal, the days of the Private school advantage has been long gone IMO, now the state of Indiana has made it a by law that its LONG GONE

Andrean has over or close to 90% particiation level in at least 1 sport of their total enrollment. Let that sink in. Families who value that sort of educational experience for their child typcially come from a family with 2 Parents in the house, who get consitent expectations from that child because of the investment they are making.

LCC who I have tangled with on football for close to 20 years is the same as well.

Its not becuae these schools are "recruiting" out of the public schools, I mean there are public schools who are just as bad, you think NWI is bad, poke your heads down indy area and the bloodbath PRIOR to the new transfer rules......now... its just pure bedlum
My Bomber pal, you've assumed that my beef with private schools like Andrean is about "recruiting", and as I have posted here before: it is not.
Right on !! What is the Beef then? if there is one....? Unless just going back to the infamous game.......

Disregard, just saw the link on last page

Definately understand that sentiment about P/P as it relates to SPED populations and IEPs in general.

Not all enrollments are the same: I think Andrean and RCHS have near same numbers now

We are like 415 students (down ov er 100 since State year)

Of those 415, I would say minimum about 15 in Life Skills program, then many more in IEP tracking, which nearly all of them do not do any extra curricular activities, so lets call that 50 total students which will be very low end number, but just spit balling. Then we have had quite a surge of non English speaking students in our HS community ( all buildings) and they are there for season work mostly, so when SEPT count comes, we are at 415, but you wana bet that when XMAS comes that number is way lower? Hence how we were in 3a 4 years ago, but I digress... Around 35-40 non English speakers to go with the 50 IEP kids so now were are more liek 330-340 9-12th grade B/G in the student body. Statistically speaking, you think all those students are doing ANY ECA, let alone football or any other sport? Many start to work to helps family, others leave middle school sports to focus on FFA programs.

So when folks see our Roster at 33 players they think something is going wrong, nope, just the way the Public School cylce has worked and with SJC now closed near 10 years we are seeing many of the changes happen in real life. Our SOPH class, we have like 4 total boys playing football I think, last year we had 7, as Freshman, seems low, but when there was only 39 total boys of the 85 I think in the class, the ole Math problem IS/OF = %/100 it was pretty decent.

Just the way it is.

Multiplier, not sure that is the answer, Success Factor shoudl be working, but COVID got it whacky and now just getting it straighten back out, though I would assume Andrean faithful would rather be in 3a right now, but that means they would not have lost to Pioneer, LaVille, and Adams Central which has caused them NOT to get the bump over the last 4-6 years

Andrean faithful don’t care whether they are in 2A or 3A. They will show up and play whoever they get paired with in either class. They got State titles in both.

Shirely you must be joking. Typical of many things the IHSAA has implemented, there are so many things wrong with the Success Penalty that it should never have seen the light of day - but that's for another discussion.

I believe you and I would align a lot of those same issues for sure.
