Re: Who’s Going to Portage?
Better than the middle of March!
Re: Who’s Going to Portage?
What's Portage's post season win percentage and average wins per postseason in that same time frame? I'll bet it's worse than 42% and .76...
If anyone paying attention to NWI football cannot fathom how Portage can be a worse job than Wheeler in this day and age when they've ran off Buzea, Radtke (before he coached a PRACTICE), and Roy Richards in addition to the other many quality football coaches that they've had lead them between 2003 and now, then idk what else to tell ya. There's something wrong over there and no one who puts their ALL into coaching/ teaching is going to want to go to Portage for a huge uphill battle JUST to compete in 6A and TRY to fix it. The question many people LOVE to ignore in these coaching search conversations is "Why has it not worked for everyone else?" or "Why has no one else they've hired been able to make Portage a consistent competitor at the 5A/ 6A level?" If the answer one gives to that question is "poor coaching," then that's just plain ignorant, lazy, and misinformed.
Idk who Portage will choose but best of luck to that man. Tall task ahead.

Like I said earlier and now that Testa has officially resigned,
I think he will be the next coach at Portage.
I think he will be the next coach at Portage.

Once again Portage is not the panacea that it is made out to be. I think it is evident who backed out.

It’s a shocker for sure, but apparently they were reading this message board and loved the insight the Cody brings and offered him the job. He had to turn down a lucrative deal of 80k a year because he’s a true purple pirate fan and couldn’t miss a game from the stands.Pauliesnuts wrote: ↑Tue Jan 06, 2026 2:56 pmOnce again Portage is not the panacea that it is made out to be. I appreciate you being "woke" enough to see it. LolPauliesnuts wrote: ↑Tue Jan 06, 2026 2:56 pmOnce again Portage is not the panacea that it is made out to be. I think it is evident who backed out.
