Morton unless they beat Hobart should t be any higher than 10 at any point the rest of year. Schedule is way to weak.

But Morton has take care of business like they should.

And I mean if Valpo wins I don’t drop Chesterton out I put them at 10..
I wouldn’t say Morton has played a weak schedule through the first 4 games of the season. They’ve played 2 DAC teams, a 6A team from Illinois and last years state runner up in Michigans 2nd biggest division. In all honestly they were a bad ref spot away from finishing the game against Chesterton and being 3-1.

Now it does get much weaker until they play Hobart later in the season. Andrean vs Hobart will determine the winner of the NCC. If you want to bring up a weak schedule look at Griffith’s opponents so far this season. The only good team they have played has been Lowell and that game was not close.

The two DAC teams… one of them might be one of the worst teams in the entire state. The other is a Chesterton team that in my opinion isn’t mid tier DAC but will be because everyone else is so down. I mean quote me if I’m wrong the team in Illinois is one of the worst… and the one in Michigan is really young this year? But still put a whopping on them. Like is said quote me if I’m wrong. I mean Morton needs to schedule the valpo/merrillville/crown point

Loyola/brother rice/mt Carmel/joliet catholic.

I mean it’s weak till they get a top 75 schedule

Right now it’s 103 and at end of year it’s projected it be around 190… I want to see them play top dogs consistently in Indiana which I know is hard because of conference and everything
You are wrong, as usual. Portage is bad but they're BARELY in the bottom half of the state bad (Sagarin is a 165 and halfway point is 157). Which by the way, Portage had only been improving every year Morton has played them except this season. Chesterton is in fact mid-tier DAC this season because that's how we judge things in football is on THIS season, not the historical past of the DAC. And okay... WHEN is Morton supposed to schedule Valpo, Crown Point, and Merrillville? Week 1? When they play Penn, Lowell (and always will), and Andrean (and always will)? Or maybe week 2? When they play (Brother Rice, Pike, and Loyola) by their own choosing because they're also trying to build a schedule that is best for their programs? You truly have no idea? Do you?! Don't answer, I already know the answer.

To finish this off lets talk about Shepard and Byron Center. Shepard is 0-3 with losses to Morton, Lane Tech (3-0 and the largest school in Illinois), and Oak Lawn (a surprising 3-0 this year). A 6A Illinois playoff team a year ago who plays a tough schedule is 0-3 but who they play doesn't matter to Cody knows it all. Where were you (and anyone else with your mindset) when they were playing Cathedral, Elkhart, and Penn? Probably saying "I don't know why they're scheduling those guys just to lose/ get killed." Scheduling ain't easy my man.

Andrean vs Hobart:
1. Arguably their best player but one of their top 3 players has been all season thus far except for wek1 first half.

2 Two other starters have been out for last two games.

3. I don’t know status of all three. It would be great to get them all back but I know they don’t want to rush it. Thinking longer term/ post season.

4. Pickett is not the concern. Is big but slow. The qb is the key to that offense. He is an effective runner and can throw it. He’s playing great for them. Will Andrean use a spy on him???

5. Andrean running game vs Hobart front 7. This is going to be the battle all night. I think this will be a stalemate.

6. Which passing attack makes plays? This will be the separator.

7. I still think it’s a low scoring game. Good old fashioned slobber knocker between two teams that hate each other.
4.) I’ll have to take another look at the Hobart QB. If he is such an effective runner give him the rock in the Red Zone. How many TD’s does Pickett have vs the QB? Max the Axe!

Well, he had 6 against Munster but I could have scored 3 or 4 vs Munster too. Terrible run defense. I don’t think either RB, Reyna and Pickett, are going to be running wild against both of these defenses. I do believe both QB’s performance will determine who wins. Low scoring game with turnovers at a premium.

I never said scheduling was easy and yes playing schools like cathedral and Penn is way outside there realm and always will be. Schedule teams closer to home. There are teams available. And I wouldn’t say either one of those records for the Illinois schools is a surprise if you knew what they had coming back and lost. Problem is Morton still plays none to prepare them for state tourney. They need to find a way to join a condense like the NCC or the DAC heck even the Griffith conference.

Duneland has needed to expand for a while or at least drop (in my opinion) Michigan city and Laporte. But that’s a whole different convo.

And as for portage. Right now that’s where they sit. But every year for a while they been in the mid 200s at end of year if I’m not mistaken. The SOS is only think keeping them up. Thanks to crown point, Merrillville, (usually) valpo, and time to time Michigan city. Outside of that they have a bottoms of state team. And improving sure let’s go with that. If 43 yards at end of a half is improving they have a long way to go. Also again correct me if I’m wrong but they will have a new coach next year as coach K is an intern and doesn’t want to be a head coach.

So how is the DAC going to expand? Where do they find these teams that fit?

And if they drop MC and Laporte they are in even a bigger mess of finding teams.

One of those things that sounds great in theory, but does not play out well.

Your last sentence is why I didn't waste my time responding. Lol ideas are awesome but when your solution/ idea is lacking important information and details, you've got nothing. Lol

As it has been said by other schools.

Lafayette Jeff and Penn are both in to joining. But football games at there schools would have to be played on Saturday.. conference for other sports becomes a little tricky would have to be Friday’s but penns former coach said they did get an invite to join in 2028 when the conference voted to expand or change anything again. But hey what do I know. I just live inside the school 🤷‍♂️
