Even more impressive of Coach Testa, staff, and the players on the field.Bearcat Nation wrote: ↑Mon Nov 03, 2025 10:19 pmWheeler did give them a helluva run, especially considering that the Bearcats lost their starting RB to concussion before the Lake Station game, and then lost their starting QB before the Andrean game. Good Luck to the Fightin' Nowlins on Friday. I don't know what they have, but I know they are very well coached and they are very tough to beat at home.

Re: sectional thoughts
Paint covered it pretty well. It's worked for Radtke at New Prairie and now Knox although at New Prairie he seemed to spread it around a LITTLE more. The man has only won for however many years. He's good at this football coaching thing. LolBallinFreak wrote: ↑Tue Nov 04, 2025 3:21 amInteresting. The wildcat heavy approach is definitely a great way to highlight the kid and get him plenty of yards. But I am not sure it is a good plan for winning games as the season progresses. But Radtke is the man and one of the best to ever do it. So I will yield to his way. Will be interesting to see how it goes.paintballer wrote: ↑Tue Nov 04, 2025 2:47 amRuss has allowed his sons Tyler and Bo too coordinate the offense and they have moved away from the triple in favor of wildcat heavy approach with alot of pulling. It’s a numbers game and having the QB run gives you that extra hat blocking.BallinFreak wrote: ↑Mon Nov 03, 2025 8:10 pmJimbo and Paint, you guys probably have seen more than I have. Does Knox basically only give this kid the ball the entire game all the time? It just shocked me. Radtke at other places has always had multiple backs that you had to be prepared for. Just seemed odd to me for a Radtke team. But no doubt that kid is the real deal. Does he have any college commitments yet?
I’m sure he’ll find a good home after the season the way Charlie Spegal(sp?) did from New Palestine did when had no D1 offers and wound up at Ball State. What he lacks in to end speed he makes up for with his vision, patience, and contact balance

Love him or hate him you have to respect Russ’s game plan. The out numbering game has always worked for him on O and D. To a point he never seems to get burned. Just old school football. I remember how frustrating the ‘bone was to many of the teams defensively. Very deceptive offense. It is honed by many hours of practice and reps until it is perfect.BallinFreak wrote: ↑Tue Nov 04, 2025 3:21 amInteresting. The bone he ran at Gtown was darn near impossible to stop and he had 4 kids that had to be accounted for on every play who could take it to the house.
That is what just amazes me at how this years team looks in comparison.
But he is the man.

I will also add I would pay money to have sat in some meetings with him and his sons as they decided to make this switch on offense. I bet they had some interesting discussions and interactions.

Yeah I am sure it did. I have not been able to watch his teams as much over the last few years. I would catch some of a NP and Hobart or NP and Lowell game and that would be about it.paintballer wrote: ↑Tue Nov 04, 2025 5:09 pmThe process started at New PrairieBallinFreak wrote: ↑Tue Nov 04, 2025 4:36 pmI will also add I would pay money to have sat in some meetings with him and his sons as they decided to make this switch on offense. Do you think this change is just due to personnel or is it their offense now no matter who they have?

I think it's due to the public perception that triple isn't "good" and this was a way to keep a run heavy approach. There is too much triple hate these days.BallinFreak wrote: ↑Tue Nov 04, 2025 5:24 pmYeah I am sure it did. I have not been able to watch his teams as much over the last few years. Cheers my man: Wheeler did some really nice things Friday night, some legit looking speed and toughness . Good work by Coach Testa staff especially with so many back players unavailable that they have had most of the year .Bearcat Nation wrote: ↑Mon Nov 03, 2025 10:19 pmWheeler did give them a helluva run, especially considering that the Bearcats lost their starting RB to concussion before the Lake Station game, and then lost their starting QB before the Andrean game. Back to the film room I go.
